Dr. Hector Hernandez is a senior research scientist with multi-disciplinary expertise whose main interest is to bring innovation in human genomics to knowledge-based, clinical, biomarker discovery. In particular, his line of research is designed to translate the recent technical and conceptual progress in cancer genomics into benefits for cancer patients. 

Having been motivated by his interest in fundamental questions on biology, Dr. Hernandez made the long transition from clinical to laboratory-based research. During this process, he accumulated experience as a Physician, a Molecular Biologist, and a Bioinformatician with expertise in cancer genomics, next generation sequencing, biomarkers, epigenetics, and bioinformatics.

Dr. Hernandez is an M.D. with a Ph.D. in Cancer Genomics and performed his postdoctoral work focusing on Cancer Epigenomics. Further, he holds a Habilitation de Diriger des Recherches (HDR) which is the highest academic title in France and is required for official supervision of Ph.D. students. At Accenius, he directs the epigenetics, biomarker drug discoveries, and immunotherapy pipeline for clinical decision.
